Tilt – tejasmodak

Tilt is an artistic framework I have been evolving over the past few years, in which drawing isn’t just a creative tool but a way of paying attention.

I have realised that the speed of life most of us are now used to makes many things invisible. I use drawing to look slower, to linger long enough to let the nuances of a place, its hidden stories, its peculiarities emerge.

Drawing often opens conversations during travel. It lets me see details I would have otherwise missed. I collect snippets of these encounters - written notes, conversations, sketches, photographs, drawings - that gradually come together in a sort of reconstructed memory of a lived moment.

So Tilt is my way of looking at things at a different angle, without preconceived notions and without a lens pre-coloured by opinion and expressing what this way of looking revealed. For the viewer, I hope it can be a visual conversation that might encourage them to slow down as well and discover a way of looking at things at an angle that is entirely their own.
